Brett Nelson

Brett is a supervising archaeologist who joined Circle in 2023. He studied archaeology, cultural anthropology, and geography at the University of Manitoba. His field experience spans the boreal forest and plains of Alberta, the Rocky Mountains, the BC Interior Plateau, and the BC coast. Brett has also worked at historic sites including York Factory and Medalta Potteries. A prospective graduate student, he is interested in synthesizing research in CRM archaeology, ethnography, science and technology studies, and the cultural and geographic contexts of practical knowledge.

When not in the field or at the Circle office, Brett can often be found in his home music studio, hiking, or reading and writing at a local coffee shop.
