Matthew Vavrek
Matthew is the Senior Palaeontologist at Circle, contributing more than 25 years of specialized experience from field and lab environments across North America. He has worked throughout Canada, including all three territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and Ontario. His expertise is highly distinguished, having previously held roles such as Head of Palaeontology and Curator at the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, Lead Instructor for Dino 101 at the University of Alberta, and Assistant Curator at the Royal Ontario Museum. He specializes in research focused on large-scale patterns in the biodiversity of fossil animals and plants, with current projects concentrating on remote locales such as the Southern Rockies, Northern Alberta, and the Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. Matthew’s knowledge is a massive asset to the team, even if his base in Grande Prairie means we don’t get to see his smiling face around the office.
