Mira George

Mira is a born-and-raised Calgarian archaeologist and technical writer. She received her B.Sc. in Archaeology and B.A. in English from the University of Calgary in 2019, where she is currently working on her M.A. in Archaeology. Her research focuses on zooarchaeological methods and 3D imaging in ancient Maya dogs, and Mira’s other research interests lie in ancient DNA, iconography, and economic trade networks in the precontact Americas. She has participated in excavations in Belize and Alberta, and completed a collections management internship with the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. These days, Mira can be found primarily in Circle’s Calgary office, where you can find her busy with desktop assessments, interim reports, cataloguing in the lab, and doing any other tasks around the office to support Circle’s incredible management team and field crew. In her spare time, Mira enjoys a nice mug of tea while she either curls up with a good book or settles into a bout of creative writing, heading out camping or hiking with her three adventure cats, and vibing to a carefully curated playlist of her favourite tunes.
