🎉 Happy Two-Spirit Day! Today, we encourage you t 🎉 Happy Two-Spirit Day!
Today, we encourage you to join us in recognizing Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ Celebration and Awareness Day, and celebrate the vibrant, diverse identities within Indigenous cultures, honouring the important roles Two-Spirit people hold in their communities.

“Two-Spirit” is an Indigenous-specific term that is used to self-identify with expressions of gender or sexuality through a pre-colonial lens. Two-Spirit identities exist separately from Western constructs of sexuality and gender and are not equivalent to an LGBTQQIA+ identity. However, an Indigenous person may choose to self-identify as either Two-Spirit, LGBTQQIA+, or both! 🤗

🫶 Together, we can celebrate the rich cultures, diverse identities, and unique perspectives of Two-Spirit people while working toward a future of respect, inclusion, and empowerment! 🤩

Fun Fact! 👀 Did you know there are over 64,000 re Fun Fact! 👀

Did you know there are over 64,000 recorded heritage sites in British Columbia? That includes 57,000+ archaeological sites and 7,000 historic places across the province! Even more remarkable, about 90% of these sites are pre-contact, representing thousands of years of history.

Indigenous Peoples have deep and ongoing connections to this history. Many archaeological sites in B.C. are culturally sensitive and hold important sacred and spiritual significance for Indigenous communities.

🏔️🌊 At Circle, we’re fortunate to work on archaeological projects throughout B.C.’s forests, mountains, coastlines, and interior landscapes, helping identify and protect heritage resources. Every site record contributes to a better understanding of the past and helps keep these places respected and protected. 🤝

Happy International Women’s Day.❤️ Today, we recog Happy International Women’s Day.❤️ Today, we recognize and appreciate all the effort of the women on our team and across the industry who drive us forward!

While we’ve made incredible strides in professional representation, global legal gaps remain a reality. This year’s theme ➡️ “Rights. Justice. Action.” is a reminder that equality requires more than just conversation; it requires dismantling the structural barriers that still exist in 2026.

💪 The grit of women has helped shape archaeology for over a century, but the work is far from finished. And to all the women making an impact every day, thank you. 🫶

Today on World Wetlands Day, the theme is "Wetland Today on World Wetlands Day, the theme is "Wetlands and traditional knowledge: Celebrating cultural heritage" 💗

💧 Did you know the largest collection of wetlands on Earth is found in North America’s Boreal Forest? These vast landscapes quietly filter water, store carbon, support biodiversity, and wetlands have been carefully understood and protected through generations of traditional knowledge.

Long before conservation plans and policy frameworks, Indigenous Peoples and local communities were already practicing sustainable wetland stewardship 🌎 When wetlands are degraded, we don’t just lose ecosystems, we lose cultural heritage, human wellbeing, and knowledge systems that have kept these places thriving for centuries.

✨ Protecting wetlands means respecting the wisdom that knows them best! 🤝

11 years ago today, Circle acquired Altamira, and 11 years ago today, Circle acquired Altamira, and wow, how far we’ve come since then 🤩

💫 From January 2015 to today, we’ve grown from a small but mighty crew into a team of over 40 during field season, building on a legacy that began with Archaeologist Bruce Ball and Altamira’s founding in 1997. Since then, Circle’s workforce more than doubled, and we have offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Williams Lake. That's nearly 16 years of Circle, 11 years since the Altamira acquisition, and a whole lot of history in between.

None of this would have been possible without Margarita de Guzman, our incredible CEO, who led the charge with vision, heart, and determination. We’re so proud of our journey, our people, and the legacy we continue to build together. Cheers to our roots, our growth, and the road ahead!🥂
